Research topic: Characterization of Fracture Networks and Their Effective Permeability

Thesis

Alireza's research focuses on fractured reservoirs characterization. In particular he works on generating fracture networks and determining the relationship between the network parameters and fluid flow characteristics. In his current project, he relates the fracture network permeability to the network parameters. He uses fractal techniques and the percolation theory to quantify the network properties. His ultimate goal is to generate fracture network and corresponding permeability map if enough amount of well and field data is provided.
